IS YOUR HEDGE OVERGROWN?

Established hedges need regular trimming to keep them dense, compact and healthy – especially if they border your garden or property.

As well as helping you improve the appearance of your garden with well-maintained hedges, we reduce the height of your hedge to allow for more light. That means you can enjoy an immaculate outdoor space all year round.

BEAUTIFUL TRIMMING FOR ANY HEDGE

Our team is proficient in all types of hedge maintenance, cutting back conifer hedges, beech hedges, laurel bushes and many other kinds of shrubbery. Just like all our tree and hedge work, we’ll also clear away the debris, leaving your garden neat and tidy as found.

We have all the equipment and skills necessary for hedge trimming. Whether we need to climb inside, prune from the outside using a ladder platform or even bring in a cherry picker hydraulic platform, we’ll restore your hedges to top shape.

TYPES OF HEDGE TRIMMING

  • Formal hedge trimming creates uniform, symmetrical shapes like squares or rectangles, and is commonly used for hedges that border garden beds or properties. It’s recommended that you trim formal hedges twice a year.
  • Informal hedge trimming gives your non-border hedges a natural appearance to help them blend in with the surrounding landscape, typically with a flowing or curved shape. Annual trimming is usually enough for informal hedges.
  • Rejuvenation trimming takes your hedge back down to the base, letting it regrow from scratch. This technique is often used to revive old or seriously overgrown hedges.
  • Reduction trimming reduces the overall size of the hedge by cutting back its branches. It keeps the hedge from getting too large, controlling growth while also maintaining its shape.
  • Hand pruning involves careful trimming to remove damaged branches and leaves, control pests, and increase oxygen flow for healthy hedge growth.
  • Winter pruning cuts back leading upright shoots, allowing your hedge to grow evenly. It’s much easier to trim deciduous hedges and shrubs in early winter, as branches are exposed once the leaves fall off.

FULL HEDGE REMOVAL

If you’d rather remove your hedge than trim it, we provide full hedge removal and stump grinding services.

The cost and time for hedge removal depends on:

  • Location: If your hedge is obstructed, difficult to access or on a slope, it could affect the equipment and number of people we need
  • Size: The larger the hedge, the more equipment and labour required to remove it, and the more waste it produces
  • Species: Which type of hedge you have determines how big the stump is, how deep its roots go and how much of it we need to remove

Get in touch to tell us about your hedge, and we’ll give you a free quote and time estimate for removal.
